Michael Christopher Sheen is a Welsh actor, producer and political activist. After training at the Royal Academy of Theater Arts in London, he worked primarily in theater throughout the 1990s and made notable appearances on stage in Romeo and Juliet, Don't Fool with Love, Peer Gynt, The Seagull, The Homecoming and Henry V. His performances. in Amadeus at the Old Vic and Look Back in Anger at the National Theater were nominated for the Olivier Award in 1998 and 1999 respectively. In 2003 he was nominated for a third Olivier Award for his performance in Caligula at the Donmar Warehouse. Sheen has been best known as a film actor since the 2000s, most notably through roles in various biographical films. Along with writer Peter Morgan, he starred in a trilogy as British politician Tony Blair: the 2003 television series The Deal, followed by The Queen and The Special Relationship. As Blair, he was nominated for the BAFTAs and the Emmy Awards.
